Pneumatic Builders

Builders are responsible for assembling, measuring, cutting, inspecting, loading, preparing cement, sewing, extruding, drilling, sanding, grinding, spraying, trimming, testing, and unloading various products using hand tools and machines. The process begins by reading and interpreting blueprints, specifications, and manufacturing work instructions to determine material requirements and assembly procedures. This position involves production, assembly, testing, and supporting the overall production process. Builders must ensure the production and inspection of quality parts are completed in a timely manner. An ideal candidate for this role should be a people person, able to work well in a team, collaborate effectively with colleagues from other departments, and also work independently when required. Builders will also perform preventive maintenance on their tools and machines as necessary. This position is responsible for the timely production of quality parts as outlined in the manufacturing instructions. Additionally, all Builders are expected to issue the parts used in work orders to maintain traceability and accurately record their work in the timekeeping and ERP systems.

What you will do:

  • Build various samples and parts using templates and manufacturing instructions.
  • Demonstrate the ability to read, calculate, measure, mix ingredients and distribute various chemicals used in the manufacturing process to include cements and solvent samples used in testing.
  • Read and interpret work orders and instructions to determine work assignments, process specifications, and production schedules for building parts.
  • Identify product inconsistencies and repair them as necessary.
  • Clean products using solvents and cloths; ensure personal hazardous waste is disposed of into the appropriate larger hazardous waste receptacles.
  • Collect cement and other hazardous waste materials from bins and receptacles.
  • Properly dispose of collected hazardous waste into larger collection receptacles and communicate any hazardous waste concerns to leadership.
  • Set up, operate, and monitor performance of assigned machine.
  • Monitor operation of assigned machines to detect any deviations from standards on parts and machine malfunctions.
  • Accurately measure, cut, and process all materials in the kitting process in a timely manner.
  • Package materials necessary for production in the product line.
  • Arrange parts on carts for placement into autoclaves.
  • Monitor, track, and record data related to various cures of parts.
  • Clean tools and parts after curing in the autoclave.
  • Confer with supervisors or other equipment operators to report equipment malfunctions or resolve production issues.
  • Adjust controls to regulate equipment according to specifications.
  • Record gauge readings, test results, and shift production in workorders.
  • Transport materials/products to and from work areas, either manually or using carts, hand trucks, hoists, and forklifts.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on all machines and tools as required
  • Ensure all de-icer products are inflated to test for defects.
  • Identify and span any product defects.
  • Document and follow written work instructions and procedures accurately.
  • Measure and inspect metal workpieces before and after work to ensure conformance to specifications using measuring and testing equipment.
  • Prepare metal surfaces or workpieces using hand-operated equipment, such as grinders, cutters, or drills.
  • Operate a sewing machine to stitch rubber fabrics together.
  • Complete all documentation accurately in the computerized tracking system.
  • Drive plant performance through safety, quality, delivery, and cost metrics.
  • Keep the work area clean and organized to facilitate process flow improvements.
  • Participate in CORE initiatives and activities.
  • Complete any other duties as assigned.
  • Clean work area at the end of the shift

Qualifications you must have:

  • A minimum education requirement of High School Diploma or GED is required.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Have experience reading blueprints and specification sheets
  • Proficient in assembly and using tools such as rollers, scissors, ect.
  • Must be willing to get certified to operate a cranes and hoists
  • Must be willing to be trained to wear a respirator and work with chemicals
  • Must be able to wear appropriate PPE as required
  • Performs work in a safe manner and completes all required safety trainings
  • Perform all TPM checks and requirements
  • Must have the ability to work any shifts and overtime including weekends
