Position Summary:
The HR Generalist at our Ravenna, Ohio Manufacturing Plant & Division Office reports directly to the Human Resources Manager. This role plays a critical part in collaborating with site leadership to support approximately 200 hourly production employees across three shifts, as well as salaried staff, and requires a consistent presence in the office and plant five days per week. The primary purpose is to ensure the facility operates smoothly and efficiently, with a focus on positive team member engagement. The Generalist I will also support the Engineering, EHS, Accounting, Quality, IT, Pricing, Sales, Customer Experience, and Supply Chain departments.
The Generalist I will have a wide range of responsibilities, including recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, training, talent development, benefits administration, and Human Resources compliance. This individual will partner directly with the Manager and the site Human Resources team.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
Support full-cycle recruitment efforts including job postings, candidate screening, interviewing, and onboarding.
Assist with employee relations matters, responding to employee inquiries, engaging with team members on the production floor, and escalating issues when necessary.
Coordinate support engagement and team member events.
Maintain and update employee records in HRIS and ensure compliance with all applicable laws and company policies.
Coordinate and track employee performance reviews.
Support benefits administration and serve as a liaison between employees and benefits providers.
Assist with training coordination and employee development initiatives.
This role is essential for promoting a culture of continuous improvement as they will participate in HR projects and activities.
Prepare HR reports and metrics for management review.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Business Administration, or related field.
Minimum Experience: 0 to 2 years of experience in Human Resources or related roles.

Physical Requirements:
Must be able to safely interact with team members on the manufacturing production floor with the required personal protective equipment.
