As IT Manager, dnata Azerbaijan you will be accountable for leading, governing, and delivering end‑to‑end technology services that underpin 24x7 cargo logistics, aviation ground operations, and warehouse environments. This role ensures the resilience, availability, and security of mission‑critical applications, IT infrastructure, and operational technology used across cargo terminals, airside operations, and regulated aviation facilities.

You will act as the primary technology leader for cargo and aviation operations—balancing day‑to‑day operational stability with longer‑term digital transformation, service improvement, and strategic alignment to head‑office IT standards, architecture, security, and governance processes.

dnata Azerbaijan is a Joint Venture between dnata and SW AFEZCO (Silk Way Alat Free Economic Zone Company). This business oversees cargo and ground handling operations at Alat airport. This is a full-time role based in Alat and will report to the Managing Director, dnata Azerbaijan.

In this role, you will:

• Aviation & Cargo IT Operations: Handle end-to-end support of cargo systems, WMS, ground handling, flight/ramp applications, and reporting/EDI platforms, ensuring 24x7 availability, rapid recovery, and strict ITIL-based incident, problem, and change management for safety-critical operations.
• Infrastructure, Cloud & Technology Services: Manage networks (including airside), wireless/IoT environments, cloud and data centres, disaster recovery, and end-user computing, with strong focus on OT security, system performance, and seamless upgrades/migrations with minimal downtime.
• IT Service Management & Service Desk: Lead ITIL-aligned service management across all processes, integrating local and global service desks, driving SLA adherence, escalation handling, and continuous service improvement with standardized reporting and governance.
• Leadership & Team Management: Develop IT teams across aviation and cargo operations, establishing clear accountability, on-call and escalation structures, and fostering a safety-first, customer-centric culture.
• Security, Risk & Compliance: Ensure compliance with aviation and cargo regulations (IATA, ICAO, customs), implementing cybersecurity controls for IT/OT systems, managing access and data protection, and supporting audits, risk assessments, and remediation.
• Vendor & Contract Management: Oversee vendors, integrators, and service providers, including procurement, RFPs, SLA/KPI governance, licensing, system lifecycle management, and adherence to airport safety and compliance standards.
• Business Partnership & Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a strategic IT partner to operations and commercial stakeholders, translating business and regulatory needs into scalable solutions, and supporting operational readiness for expansions, new airlines, and continuity plans.
• Strategy, Projects & Continuous Improvement: Drive IT roadmaps aligned to growth, automation, and digitalisation; leading major projects (terminal expansion, automation, integrations), improving efficiency through optimisation and data use, and managing budgets and cost initiatives.

To be considered for the role, you must meet the below requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 5–10+ years of experience in IT leadership roles within operational or industrial environments.
• Proven experience managing mission‑critical systems in logistics, cargo, aviation, or 24x7 operational settings.
• Strong foundation in ITIL service management and operational governance.
• Experience managing vendors, tenders, and complex technology contracts.
• Strong understanding of infrastructure, cloud, networks, and cybersecurity controls.

You will have an edge, if you have:

• Experience with aviation, cargo, warehouse, or ground handling systems.
• Knowledge of cargo platforms, WMS, operational databases, EDI, and airline interfaces.
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity in OT/industrial environments.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and crisis‑management skills.
• Experience supporting safety, compliance, and regulatory audit processes.
