JOB SUMMARY:
Part-time 20-30 hrs/week
The Continuous Improvement Leader position works with operational/functional leaders to drive implementation of Lean activities and is responsible for the development and sustainment of a Continuous Improvement culture. The CI Leader assists in the assessment, prioritization, and execution of lean management/problem solving projects which align with the company’s business objectives. This is accomplished through a blend of tactical (projects) and strategic (coaching/leading) lean initiatives.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lean Manufacturing
Work closely with operational/functional leaders to identify and eliminate waste, reduce cost, and improve productivity and efficiency.
Manage organizational change through simplification of processes and frameworks; prioritizing, aligning, and driving improvements that support business objectives.
Drive short and long-term process improvement strategies utilizing a blend of incremental (daily operations) and radical change (future state vision).
Focuses projects and activities on identification and correction of issues impacting Safety, Quality, Volume, Cost, and People Morale.
Lean Culture and Operational Behaviors.
Drive Culture and Behaviors based on the Shingo model.
Assess/Audit the Lean Journey. Support deployment of standardization, visual management, and standard management
Support facilitation of Lean events.
Acquire, develop/provide training for: Lean, Shingo Model, PDCA/Scientific Method, HOSHIN KANRI (HK)/Global Deployment Policy (GDP), Problem Solving, and any technical training required for process excellence.
Be a change agent: work alongside cross-functional teams to remove organizational barriers to continuous improvement.
Lead extensive cross-functional collaboration with multiple stakeholders.
Benchspan and incorporate best practices into the organization (including but not limited to new technology).
Data-Driven Methodology
Guide company process improvement strategies through a data-based approach.
Establish quantifiable Lean goals and create action plans to achieve. Use metrics to provide support in linking projects to strategic operational objectives (data driven management).
Achieve results that are significant, measurable & sustainable.
Qualifications
EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Industrial preferred), Sciences, Technology, or closely related field.
Relevant experience in Manufacturing or Engineering is preferred. QUALIFICATIONS:

Preferred Knowledge & Skills:
Demonstrated leverage of continuous improvement tools, including structured problem-solving methodologies.
Lean methodology certificates and/or training.
Sufficient relevant experience to understand organizational and business processes
Previous experience in reading and interpreting blueprints, work instructions and technical specifications (Quality and/or Engineering).
