- Parker Meggitt, a recent addition to Parker Hannifin, is a global leader in the Commercial and Military Aerospace spanets, specializing in a wide range of products including fire and smoke detection systems, extinguishing systems, bleed air overheat detection systems, actuators, rudder pedal assemblies, pumps, fuel gauging systems, and high-temperature cables. Located in Simi Valley, CA, this site is within the Fire Safety & Power Systems Division (FSPSD) and is a key supplier in select energy spanets, particularly in nuclear gas analyzers and nuclear containment vessel penetration cables. We work directly with some of the largest aerospace companies in the world, including Airbus, Boeing, Embraer, and Lockheed Martin, among others.
SUPPLIER QUALITY ENGINEER 2
JOB DESIGNATION - The Supplier Quality Engineer II is responsible to implement the Supplier aspects of the Quality Management System. Evaluate issues, problem solve and facilitate continuous improvements for quality issues and growth opportunities identified within our supply chain. Provide engineering support for aspects of product realization from our supply chain. Monitor supplier performance against quality requirements and contractual obligations using scorecards and key performance indicators.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Implement the Supplier aspects of the Quality Management System to ensure that it is effective in producing, measuring and maintaining a supply base measured by defective/rejected parts, as well as delivery performance
- Will work with the internal Team Members and outside suppliers and customers. Will participate on and lead cross-functional teams.
- Collect data, establish facts, define problems, and draw valid conclusions for issues identified with our supply chain
- Addresses deficiencies in the Suppliers Performance Rating as it relates to quality, performance and delivery. Issues follow-up reports and corrective action reports and provides follow up and closure of nonconformance issues.
- Utilizes lean manufacturing, error proofing and continuous improvement initiatives to support the supply chain by assisting in development of robust processes that assures quality products and services.
- Effectively communicate in oral and written form in order to present information and respond to questions from company Team Members, Suppliers and Customers
- Ensures that disposition of nonconforming material is handled in a timely manner. Work with Quality Engineering to put in place inspection plans for receiving inspection and suppliers.
- Coordinates with suppliers for initiatives relating to supplier quality performance. Tracks performance trends and performs quality trend analysis from supplier base and facilitates corrective actions as appropriate.
- Ensures compliance to procedures and requirements outlined in the Supplier Quality Manual and supplier quality requirements. Revises and implements changes to these documents as required, and partners with the Supply Chain Team to roll out these changes for implementation at the suppliers location.
- Participates in supplier reviews and provides input to the Purchasing, Quality and Engineering Departments in regard to supplier quality and supplier flow downs.
- Performs Supplier Quality System Initial Audits and Surveillance Audits as required.
- Regular travel to suppliers (25-50) including domestic and international as needed
- Other responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications:
- Knowledgeable of technical procedures, specifications, standards, and other engineering and manufacturing related documents.
- Thorough knowledge of quality inspection and quality engineering/assurance techniques, procedures, instruments, equipment, theories, principles and concepts and general business operations.
- Must have the ability to effectively solve problems, assess and implement continuous improvement techniques for Quality and Manufacturing functions using Six Sigma methodologies (e.g. Kaizen, Lean, DMAIC) and tools (e.g. ANOVA, SPC, Capability Analysis, DOE, MSA, and FMEA).
- Use standard business applications software and/or specialized data analysis tools
- Prefer at least two of the following certifications: ISO Lead Auditor Certification, ASQ Certification, Six Sigma Green/Black Belt Certification, and/or ISO Internal Auditor Certification.
Education & Experience:
- Required a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science or a related discipline
- 3+ years of functional experience (e.g. Supplier Quality, Quality Assurance, Quality Engineering)

Competitive Compensation
- Pay Range:$83,250 to $138,550 annually
- Participation in Annual Incentive Program
