The quality and regulatory compliance Sr Staff Mission Assurance Engineer serves as a technical authority and advisor on quality system compliance, regulatory requirements, and customer-specific mandates. This role partners across engineering, manufacturing, contracts, programs, and supply chain to ensure full compliance with industry regulations and standards, while driving continuous improvement and risk reduction. A successful candidate in this role will be able to translate requirements into business outcomes, influence behavior, and proactively prevent problems. In this role, you will lead assessments, develop compliance strategies, and guide the implementation of regulatory and quality systems.
This position will be based full-time on-site in Linthicum, MD near the Baltimore area.
What Youll Get To Do:
Conduct comprehensive regulatory gap analyses and maturity assessments for the Quality Management System (QMS)
Actively support proposals to ensure appropriate interpretation of regulatory and contractual requirements
Evaluation of the organization’s ability to meet all customer requirements.
Support negotiations of terms and conditions with respect to regulatory flowdowns
Cross-functionally mentor and train personnel on regulatory requirements
Serve as a non-advocate in the resolution of complex requirements interpretation
Supports ethics investigations in the area of requirements interpretation
Maintains up‑to‑date knowledge of regulations, standards, and industry best practices; disseminates insights internally
Potential to serve on industry boards
Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills, effectively influencing stakeholders at all organizational levels.
Basic Required Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field and 14 years of relevant experience, or a Masters degree and 12 years of relevant experience, or a PhD and 10 years of relevant experience
Experience in design and manufacturing, or technology environment
Experience managing multiple concurrent projects
Experience with proposal development and contract negotiation
Demonstrated ability to navigate teams through conflict resolution
Experience with multiple industry standards across aerospace and manufacturing
Strong facilitation skills leading workshops and VSM sessions
Active U.S. Government Secret Clearance
U.S Citizenship Required
Preferred Qualifications:
Represents industry on writing committees for regulatory bodies
Secret clearance
ASQ Certified Quality Engineer
Advanced knowledge and application of industry standards
Experience briefing executive leadership on the interpretation of requirements
Primary Level Salary Range: $184,100.00 - $276,100.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidates experience, education, skills and current spanet conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
