Job Title: Facilities Maintenance Engineer
Job DescriptionSupport daily facilities operations across manufacturing, warehouse, and office environments. Troubleshoot building systems including compressed air, compressors, generators, lighting, HVAC, and utilities. Perform general maintenance, repairs, and equipment checks to ensure production readiness. Coordinate and oversee vendors and contractors for repairs, maintenance, and facility improvements. Manage work orders, preventive maintenance schedules, and documentation. Support facility upgrades, space reconfigurations, and equipment moves.
Responsibilities
- Conduct facility safety inspections and walkthroughs.
- Assist with hazard identification, corrective actions, and basic safety compliance tasks.
- Perform emergency equipment checks such as eyewash stations, fire extinguishers, exits, and AEDs.
- Support incident response and follow-up related to facilities or building systems.
- Assist with emergency preparedness activities and drills.
- Help maintain documentation for audits, inspections, and regulatory readiness.
- Work closely with the EHS team to ensure safe, compliant work environments.
- Be available as a first responder on the night shift.
Essential Skills- 5+ years of facilities experience in a manufacturing environment, including compressed air, compressors, generators, and production support.
- Strong knowledge of building systems and general maintenance.
- Basic understanding of HVAC systems and ability to perform routine checks.
- Ability to use basic computer systems for documentation, work orders, and logs.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to learn EHS fundamentals and support safety programs.

Work Environment
Training will be conducted for the first four weeks from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, aligning with the schedules of senior facilities and EHS technicians. Post-training, the schedule will shift to 3:30 PM to 12:00 AM, Monday through Friday. The work environment includes collaboration with a dedicated team focused on safety and operational excellence.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hayward, CA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.
