Northrop Grumman is seeking an Associate Nuclear Surety Systems Engineer for our Strategic Deterrent Systems Division in Roy, UT.
A Nuclear Surety Systems Engineer has the opportunity to get in on the ground floor of a system designed to provide another 50 years of security for this great nation. Nuclear Surety ensures that nuclear weapons are protected against peacetime and wartime threats at all times. A Nuclear Surety Systems Engineer at Northrop Grumman on the Sentinel program will be provided the opportunity to:
• Perform decomposition of Department of Defense safety manuals into requirements and allocating them to design teams for implementation
• Provide systems engineering expertise to the design, integration, and testing of a next generation ICBM weapon system
• Participate in technical planning, system integration, verification, validation, cost, risk, supportability, and analysis for mechanical, electrical, and integrated systems
• Evaluate the physical security design based on the Department of Defense Safety manuals
• Interface directly with various compartments of the Department of Defense and Department of Energy to ensure safe design and operation of nuclear weapon systems
• Use model based engineering tools on a major weapon system to pioneer a new way to evaluate and analyze modern design
• Learn a niche discipline that spans all aspects of Nuclear Power and Munitions
Basic Qualifications:
A candidate must meet ALL the criteria below. The candidate must:
- Be completing or has completed their degree (Bachelor’s or Master’s) from an accredited institution.
- Be majoring in or having majored in Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Nuclear Engineering.
- Be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.70/4.0 or higher
- Current active Secret Security Clearance or higher
