Environment, Health & Safety Specialist - RAAF Base Edinburgh
Boeing Defence Australia is establishing a state‑of‑the‑art aviation maintenance facility for the P‑8A Poseidon modification program. The facility will commence full‑time operations in mid 2026. We are seeking an Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist who will join the existing team of EHS Specialists working across maintenance and training system support environments.
The role will report to the EHS Operations Manager, and is responsible for supporting the implementation of EHS Management Systems on the Program, providing practical advice, and working closely with stakeholders to drive compliance and a strong safety culture.
This is an opportunity for someone with strong EHS experience who can operate confidently, build trusted relationships, and contribute to a supportive, dynamic team.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Support and maintain the EHS Management System implementation at program level
- Provide practical EHS advice to program leaders and team members
- Partner key stakeholders to support contractual and regulatory compliance
- Help build and sustain a positive safety culture across the program
- Report on EHS compliance, including recommendations for improvement
- Support EHS response preparedness and incident investigations
- You will use your technical skills and adaptable approach to engage effectively with stakeholders, understand their needs and challenges, and build collaborative relationships that support positive outcomes.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
Applicants must be able to demonstrate:
- Formal qualifications, preferably a degree, in Health and Safety, Science, or a related field
- Minimum three years experience in a similar role
- Sound knowledge of health and safety legislation
- Demonstrated experience applying ISO 9001, ISO 45001 and ISO 14001
- Sound understanding of risk management principles and application
- Solid knowledge of health and safety at work principles and practices
- ICAM investigation training and experience is desirable
